Nikki Haley, the first major opponent to Trump in the 2024 Republican presidential primaries. The former UN Ambassador under Trump started her political career as a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives. She was first elected to the state house in 2004 and remained in the house until 2010. She ran for Governor of South Carolina in 2010 and won. She was re-elected in 2014 and became the UN Ambassador under Trump, serving from 2017 to the last day of 2018.
She launched a 2024 Republican presidential campaign in February 2023. Since then, she has tried to gain traction, but her efforts seem to be futile.
I do not support her candidacy. I do not think she should be President.
On March 14, 2023, she decided to comment on Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) and former President Donald Trump (R). Her 2024 campaign released a statement that criticized DeSantis and Trump. Haley tried to paint DeSantis as a mini-Trump .
This comes after DeSantis made comments on U.S. support for Ukraine. DeSantis said that financing the Ukraine-Russia conflict shouldnât be a priority of the federal government⌠and heâs right.
Haley says that Ukraineâs war should be bankrolled and supported by the US. No, it should not. Comments like this remind me of the interventionist that Nikki Haley is and is why I would never support her in the Republican primary or in the general election. IF I were to vote for her in the general (something I donât have to worry about, she isnât going to make it that far), it would be a vote AGAINST the Democrats. There is no reason why I would vote FOR her.
In related news, Trump made a video praising electoral juggernaut Rick Scott, who manages to win âunwinnableâ elections in Florida, always within the tightest, anxiety-inducing margins possible, almost losing to Democrat and former Governor Charlie Crist in the 2014 Florida gubernatorial election, a red wave year that saw Republicans pick up governorships in Illinois, Maryland, and Massachusetts. Speaking of Charlie Crist, the victim of DeSantisâ electoral homicide in 2022 (see below for the glorious map).
DESANTIS WON MIAMI-DADE COUNTY!! BY DOUBLE DIGITS!!
Anyway, back on topic: Trumpâs video, where he praised Rick Scott to bash Ron DeSantis (trying to downplay the amazing things DeSantis has done for Florida by saying that itâs easy to be Governor of a beautiful state with sunshine and coastsâwhich means California Governor Gavin Newsom is also doing a great job based on just those stands, Trump!âand Trump even tried to praise CHARLIE CRIST, a Democrat, as a great Governor of Florida (although it is important to note that Charlie Crist
Fun fact about Charlie Crist: he has lost statewide elections in Florida under the 3 major political affiliations.
As a Republican in 1998:
As an Independent in 2010:
And as a Democrat in both 2014 and 2022:
This is also revealing about the fear of GOP hopefuls against DeSantis: they are SCARED of him. Ron DeSanctimonious hasnât announced if he is even going to run for President in 2024 (he should), but the declared candidates, especially Haley and Trump, are going after him big time. Why? Why are they so scared of Ron DeSantis?
Because he would be an effective leader that delivers on conservative ideals and works for the people. And he would do this without worrying about his own brand or support from the elites. Unlike Trump, who plays politics based on loyalty to HIM and nothing else, DeSantis is an effective executive branch head who made swing state Florida into a solid red state for the foreseeable future by pushing forward conservative and populist ideals.
Ron DeSantis is the best possible option for Republicans in 2024. And Nikki Haley is the worst option. She is so out of touch with the American people in terms of policy. And she will not win.
